Sept 29: Test Return
After prayer, the students received their test back. We reviewed them as a class. It was good to see the students after their week-long ITBS last week. The students were asked to have their tests signed and returned tomorrow.

In class today we prayed the Liturgy of the Hours. The students are getting very good. Afterwards, we did a review of our lessons to date and discussed the maxim “Good but Fallen.” This maxim will serve as a brief summary of the Creation and Fall accounts. For homework, the students were asked to write a paragraph on this maxim.
Today the students were reviewing and visiting with Mrs Ortner. I and four other priests were hearing the Confessions of our elementary school children.
Today in class we prayed the Liturgy of the Hours from their student prayer books, and then we reviewed our lessons on creation. From there, we moved to a discussion on Adam and Eve.
On Monday, September 8, there will be a review quiz on the days of creation, the five principles of creation, and the Liturgy of the Hours.
Well, it turned out that we did have class yesterday. The Middle School shortened its class time and so every class was able to meet. So, we started our review of the Liturgy of the Hours in the student’s prayer books. Today, we picked up that review and prayed the Liturgy of the Hours as a class. It’s my intention to pray the Liturgy of the Hours frequently as a class. We also reviewed the days of creation and the five principles of creation. From there, we moved to Genesis 2:5 and began our discussion on the creation of the human person. On Monday, the students will need their Bibles in class.
On Wednesday, September 3, we will not have a formal lesson time. The students will have the opportunity to go to Confession. For any remaining time of our class period, the students will review and visit with Mrs. Ortner.
Today in class we reviewed the five principles of creation, and then had a quiz on them. I purposely reviewed beforehand because I wanted the students to know these principles and to do well on the quiz. After the quiz, we reviewed how to go to Confession. Tomorrow the Middle School students will have an opportunity to receive this sacrament.
